Where I Live - Sarah Anderson and Her Sonoma County Home | Pottery Barn

Antique shop owner, Sarah Anderson, gives us a tour of her home in Sonoma County, California. Built in the 1870s, she is the proud owner of an old Victorian house. Sarah set out to design her house herself, as her mind was abuzz with decorating ideas. The goal was to maintain the integrity of the house. Sarah maintained the original look of her home by making minimal changes. Sarah wanted to create a warm and inviting feeling. She wanted a home that was cozy and had a farmhouse atmosphere. She invited the Pottery Barn’s Design Studio to help her decorate the home. Pottery Barn design experts simply re-created her living space and transformed the look of her home. For example, the upstairs bedroom was re-decorated using only Pottery Barn furniture. The placing of simple furniture pieces like the bed, the desk made the room look just right. Later, Sarah asked the Pottery Barn experts to use their creative ideas to re-arrange her own furniture. Pottery Barn Design Studio also offers excellent ideas to organize your living spaces. How to Achieve the Classic Club Style with Our Manhattan Leather Armchair | Pottery Barn

Owning the Pottery Barn Manhattan Leather Armchair is nothing short of making an iconic style statement. Former Vice President of Product Development at Pottery Barn, Hilary Billings, tells us the how they came about designing this Pottery Barn classic club chair. The original leather club chairs were first made in 1920′s in Paris and were installed in Parisian men’s clubs. The Pottery Barn product development team found these unique leather armchairs while looking for product ideas at a Parisian flea market. Being inspired by club chairs, Pottery Barn decided to look for a generously portioned leather armchair focusing on those built in the 1930s and their search led them to Manhattan, where they found the perfect chair. Beautiful design details from the original chair were kept such as line of piping around the chair and sturdy wooden legs. First unveiled in the mid 90′s, the Pottery Barn Manhattan Leather Armchair became an instant hit with customers. Without a doubt, Pottery Barn’s Manhattan Leather Armchair has a timeless design that makes it fit in any room of your home and always be in style. Designing and decorating your own home is one of the most satisfying experiences. In this video, see how Bob Weinstein and Eric Hensley from Sag Harbor, New York took up an enormous challenge to renovate an old house which they have made their home. With an aim to preserve the uniqueness of the house, Bob and Eric used pre-existing furniture pieces and fittings from the previous owners. They kept a chest of wooden filing cabinets and framed the old wallpaper which was decades old as memorabilia using Pottery Barn glass frames. While rebuilding their home, Bob and Eric had fun harvesting and reusing the old building materials. For example, the foundation stones of their home were turned into a sturdy retaining wall in their garden. A well-known designer himself, Bob likes to incorporate new furniture and design ideas in his home. When Pottery Barn came to redesign their house, they helped create a perfect harmony between different elements of their living space. According to Bob, the Pottery Barn design team had a great sense of coordination and understanding of aesthetics of their home. The interior design experts at Pottery Barn also provided Bob and Eric with a wide range of options to help personalize and individualize their home.
